Book Coach helps you discuss reading passages with AI from a Chrome side panel. It sends only the reading context you choose to use for an AI answer.
Book Coach may process these data types:
Use page.We use this data only to provide the AI reading companion feature, enforce request limits, understand basic usage volume, prevent abuse, and maintain the service. We do not sell this data and we do not use it for advertising.
Requests are sent to the Book Coach backend hosted on Vercel and then to OpenAI so an answer can be generated. Daily request counters are stored in Upstash Redis. If you use the feedback form, your feedback is processed by Google Forms. We do not share your data with other third parties except as needed to operate the service, comply with law, or protect against abuse.
Book Coach stores settings, your random device ID, selected reading context, and recent conversation history in Chrome storage on your device. You can reset local conversation history from the extension settings.
Book Coach stores daily request counts and hashed device IDs on the backend to enforce the free beta request limit and monitor service usage. These counters are not used for advertising.
Production requests should be sent over HTTPS. The OpenAI API key is kept on the backend and is not stored inside the Chrome extension.
Book Coach uses website content and user-provided content only for its single purpose: helping you understand and discuss reading passages with AI. This use complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
